Robert’s father was Bruno Schumburg, known as Bruno Anderson. In 1919 Bruno was a prisoner of war and escaped from the German Concentration Camp, Holdsworthy, New South Wales.  Bruno was listed as missing in the Qld Government Gazette and some time later was arrested and handed over to the Military authorities.

According to his enlistment form Robert was born 11 November 1909.  At some time, Robert was fostered by Mr. and Mrs. D Rubie, of Kyoomba, Queensland.

Cause of death for Robert Anderson was due to a motor accident.

Robert Anderson’s name is located at panel 24 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial.
