The son of Sydney Joseph and Vida Amanda (Manning) Carter born 4 January 1915. Jack had three siblings, Alys Manning Carter born and died 1912, Clive Manning Carter 1917 and Ellis Manning Carter 1919. His brother Ellis enlisted in July 1942.
In the 1936 Electoral Roll he was a clerk at the Dubbo bank, 1937 at Boorowa and in 1943 was a bank officer at Captain’s Flat.
Jack married Enid Margaret Boucher in 1941 and they had one son.
He died of natural causes.
Jack Manning Carter’s name is on the Roll of Honour at Captains Flat New South Wales and also located at panel 100 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial.
