Roy Percival was born 3 August 1921, his parents were Joseph and Katie Elizabeth (Richardson) Percival. He enlisted in Sydney, New South Wales and gave his next of kin as his mother, Katie Percival. His occupation was a Postman.

He flew many transport flights to Delhi, Singapore, Ceylon and the Australian Military Mission to Singapore for the surrender of the Japanese forces.

Flight Lieutenant Roy Percival met his death when he fell from a cliff at Edge Hill, Cairns.

Roy Edward Percival’s name is on Glen Innes Roll of Honour board and also located at panel 103 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial.
