 Heather Lillian Stevenson was born in Mackay, Queensland on the 13 December 1914 to Alexander and Rubenia Amelia Augusta (Neilsen) Stevenson and was one of their five children. 

In the 1937 Electoral Rolls Heather’s occupation was a nurse at the District Hospital, Mackay then in 1943 was living at Russell Street, South Brisbane.

She was living at Russell Street, South Brisbane when she enlisted on the 2 August 1942, the same address as her mother.  Her occupation, a nurse, and gave her next of kin as her mother Reubenia, now Hunt.  She served in the Australian General Hospital.

Lieutenant Heather Stevenson died 25 November 1945 at Innisfail District hospital of Nephritis.

 

Heather Lillian Stevenson’s name is on Townsville Roll of Honour board and is located at panel 96 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial
