Dudley’s parents were William Edgar and Alma Jane (McHale) Tyres, he was born 14 November 1926 and one of four children. His height was 5 feet 6 inches with blue eyes and fresh complexion, occupation a labourer.

Cause of death was drowning.

Five months after Dudley’s death, September 1947, the ship he was serving on, HMAS Warnambool, struck a mine off Cairns and was sunk.
