Samuel was the son of Samuel Henry and Anna (Hancock) Hill born 25 January 1907 in Beaufort, Victoria.  He enlisted on the 25 May 1940 in Cairns and his next of kin was unknown.

Sergeant Samuel Hill died of illness.

Samuel Henry Hill’s name is on Cairns Roll of Honour board and also located at panel 11 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial.
