- How to Join as an Attendee on GoToMeeting – we will send you an email invitation one day before the webinar. This email will include a link to the webinar or meeting. About 5 minutes before the scheduled time the webinar is due to start, click on the webinar link. You should go straight into the webinar or meeting. If a pop-up appears Open GoToOpener, click on the blue tab.
- Audio Tips – it is best to use a USB headset with a microphone if you have one (like you’d use for Skype), or if you don’t have a headset you can use the earbuds with inline mic that came with your tablet or smartphone. Note: If your computer is older and doesn’t have a plug for a headset, or you have trouble with the audio, you can use a phone to dial into the event audio (any phone, it doesn’t need to be a smartphone). To do that, join the meeting first, then click on the cogwheel settings icon (near the top right of the page with the webcams), click on the Phone tab, note the 02 number, meeting/access number and PIN, then click on the red button below that says ‘Stop using computer audio’, and then proceed to dial the phone number (usually 02), enter the meeting access number and PIN, then you should be able to listen to the event from your phone.
- Internet Tip (optional): if you have home broadband but are using your laptop on Wifi, the experience will be much faster if you can connect your laptop via an Ethernet cable to your router instead of using Wifi.
