Norman’s parents were Arthur Mitchell Armstrong and Emily Mary Hiscock, he was born in October 1909.  His known siblings were William born 1900, Mitchel Kingo 1905 and Keith 1913. 

On his enlistment his occupation was journalist.  He was married in October 1935 to Rhyll Castles and had three sons, Ronald, Kenneth and Eric. 

He died of a heart attack after swimming in the Barron River.

Norman Armstrong’s name is on the Kyneton Roll of Honour board and also located at panel 85; Supplementary panel 3 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial
