“May The Lord Have Mercy On His Soul”

John Joseph Davies, the son of Netterville Rutledge and Anastasia Mary (Browne) Davies, was born in 20 June 1919 in Boorowa, New South Wales. He had one brother, Edward Netterville, born 1915,  sadly Edward, known as Ned, died in 1942, while waiting to hear the results of his application to enlist in A.I.F. when he suddenly took sick and died.

John is listed in the 1943 Electoral roll as a jackaroo at Emerald Hill, Binalong, which was the family property.

A plaque for John was placed on Edwards’ (Ned) grave.

John died as the result of burns received when burning range fuel was spread by an explosion of a stove.
