Francis (Frank) Joseph Fitzpatrick was the second child of Francis Thomas and Catherine Elizabeth (McEnearney) Fitzpatrick, born 7 October 1922. He had 2 brothers John and Frederick and a sister Patricia who died in 1928.

He was killed in a road accident on the Kuranda Range.

Corporal Joseph Fitzpatrick’s name is on the Newcastle Roll of Honour and also located at panel 93 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial.
