Gerald was the son of Rowland Arthur George and Evelyn Constance (Kean) Gregson, born 10 April 1919. He was the eldest brother of Betty and Raymond Alan George Gregson (Raymond served in the  2/24 Australian Infantry Battalion).

On his enlistment form, his occupation was a labourer, he had fair hair and grey eyes.

Corporal Gregson’s cause of death was the result of him being thrown from an Army vehicle, when it left the roadway and turned over approximately 6 miles from Gordonvale.

Corporal Gerald Gelley Gregson’s name is on the Roll of Honour at Spring Bay, Tasmania and also located at panel 93 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial.
