Private Albert Fox

Albert Henry Fox was born on 3 May 1894 at St Lawrence, Qld to Emil Fox and Annie Margaret (nee Schneider).  His brother Emil Earnest was born in 1888 and his sister, Annie Marie, was born in 1899.

He was working as a labourer when he enlisted in Cairns at the age of 21 years 7 months.  He was 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighed 140 pounds. He had a dark complexion, brown eyes and black hair.  His religion was Church of England and named his father as his next of kin.

He embarked from Brisbane on 16 April 1915 on the HMAT Kyarra and landed at Gaba Tepe on the Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey on 22 June 1915.

He was killed in action six days later on 28 June 1915 and was buried at Shell Green Cemetery, 1150 yards south of Anzac Cove.
