Frederick Charles Boden was born in Cairns on 11 February 1891, the second of six children of William Henry Boden born England and Susan Webster (Morrison) born Linlithgow, Linlithgowshire, Scotland.  His siblings were Lawrence John (1889), Edgar Morrison (1892) who also served overseas, Jeannie Marshall (1896), Ellen (1901) and Susie Morrison (1904).

When Frederick enlisted in Townsville on the 2 September 1915, he named his mother Susan Webster Boden, C/- Adelaide SS Coy, Cairns, as his next of kin.  His occupation was Clerk (accountant) and he was 24 years 6 months of age, 5 feet 3 1/4 inches in height, weighed 9 stone 6 pounds with fair complexion, grey eyes and auburn hair.  He was Presbyterian.  He attended the Cairns State School.

Private Boden arrived in Alexandria, Egypt on 19 February 1916 and on 20 June 1916 left Egypt on the “Huntsend” arriving in Marseilles, France on 30 June 1916.  He was admitted to hospital on 2 November 1918 and died of broncho pneumonia on 8 November 1918.  Frederick Charles Boden is buried in Etretat Churchyard Cemetery, Etretat, Le Havre, Haute-Normandie, France.
